How we'd like to see it...
« on: June 22, 2012, 09:27:50 am »
Hi folks....

Apart from the standard forum common sense stuff as posted in this section there are a few other id just like to say...

For the vast majority none of this will apply, but for those who think it maybe a new place to strut their stuff please take note...

For many enthusiasts it's not about building the best/fastest/show winning car, many just like to tweek what they have, maybe it's the family shopping car, or they're a first time driver, or they don't have the equipment or knowledge to be swapping engines etc.

So, if a young guy...or girl...comes on here and asks "what's the best air filter or exhaust to fit to perk up my 1100/1300 Golf please don't give the age old answer "stick a valver / VR6 / 1.8T in it mate...yr waisting yr time with a small engine"!....make them feel welcome. . .help them with decent advice. .yes an engine swap may make more sense in many cases....but find out what they want to achive...they may not want to be propelled toward the moon at warp factor 5...

Equally, there will be a lot of genuine enthusiasts on here giving time and advice based on knowledge and experience. .take on board there help if you ask for it...smart comments like "nah mate yr wrong...my mates brothers neighbours son says....blah blah blah"....will be frowned upon.

Apart from that...."lets party"
