Title: New JMR front mount
Post by: JMR on February 20, 2013, 10:28:17 pm
At long last we have the final prototype of our new MK1 Golf front mount.

Designed to offer additional support as our already very successful rear gearbox mount does, this is another useful addition for the MK1 Golf owner.

I fitted this and another identical mount in 5 min's today (5 mins each not both the same time Tim!)...std mount out, JMR mount in...it fitted perfectly...as should be expected.

Seen in the pics in it's raw state, the first batch should be ready in 3-4 weeks once made and powder coated....form an orderly que folks!... ;)

Hi,

Can I use the front mount with a 02A gearbox?

Can I use the rear mount with a 02A gearbox?

Thanks,
Mario.

Hi Fro...

I "think" there are adaptor brackets available to use std mounts with an 02A. If so, then anywhere a std front or rear mount fits ours will too.

I'll ask a chap who's used them on a similar conversion and let you know.

Basically, I'm building a Mk1 Golf Track car, so there are lots of toys on here I like. Very difficult to find proper track focused companies like yourselves these days.

I am planning on fitting a Crossflow engine with 02A gearbox and want the best engine mounts available. My understanding is that only the 2 gearbox mounts need to be adapted for the 02A box, but the standard snubber front mount is crap in my opinion so I was looking for a VW Motorsport style version. Now I've seen your version I think it's probably better than VWMs!

I will definitely have one if it will definitely fit. I can see me spending a lot of money with you guys, so your help would be greatfully received. No rush though, the shell is still at the seam welding stages.

Thanks

Well this is definitely the place to come......keep your eyes peeled end of this month as my x-flow 2.0L on ITBs and forged internals will be going on the engine dyno down near Jason. 8)

Why do you want an 02A box  - 020 is lighter, and strong enough for an 8v unless you're going forced induction.

Have the mk2 front mounts been finished yet? If so do you have any stock?
