If you ever want asmaller race battery, get a lithium one. One of hillclimb guys sells them and reckons they are the biz, plenty of juice for a race-type vehicle, only 1.5kg. Staggering. And with the deals he does, no more expensive than a race red- top type. I'll be getting one when mine expires.

My Mk3 golf plus axle front upright mods - drop pin, lower spherical bearing mount correctly angled so bearing is a zero movement at static ride height, along with being lengthened to make the wishbone longer due to angled drop pin, and steering arm pin to allow for quick adjustments for bump steer.
![]() ![]() But this is what it really needs for the steering arm ![]() And note lovely shimmed adjustment for lower balljoint attachment for fine camber adjustment, yummy ![]() 24

Fantastic- there you go - 4"
![]() Have raised it a touch since then but thats as good an estimate as we will get. Interesting thing about the ibiza beam is that the bushes are properly fore/aft, unlike some of those I have seen from a golf which tend not to point exactly for/aft, with a bit of 'toe in' so to speak. No idea how this might affect the beam in movement. This might be of interest also, Mk3 golf VR vs late (large bush) Mk2 Ibiza beams ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The golf has longer 'arms', the axle center is higher on the ibiza, the golf beam is wider overall, the bushes/fixing brackets are totally different (hence why it is not already on my car.....) 25

Fill y boots bud. Cad has to be better than my scribble. It would be nice to know rc's at different angles of beam/ as the suspension moves.
Checked front rc notes....that was 16mm he said. Which i agree doesnt sound right the way we are thinking about them, but the guy should know his onions.....maybe there is something not being understood. I will see if i can get hold of him again. 27

Heres the drawing I did last year when I was considering this - my mistake - 4" not 40mm, (points A/B/C shown) - went to look for it when you raised the topic again
This is with an ibiza beam which is shorter in the arms than a golf beam, and 3.8" assumes the beam is horizontal, which mine is not quite, it slopes up a touch, hence the note approx 4.0" RC Initial sketch ![]() Scale drawing (albeit not as nice as Dave's creations) ![]() ![]() 28

Fuel system does need to be e85 proof but most modern stuff is. Worth checking by soaking bits in som fuel and see how hey go.
