I can only comment on my build which is a cross flow using an AKL head (mk4 1.6 8v) on an AGG block. A non std inlet is required, choices I found are the Roland from South Africa or the JMR. The latter have a longer, straighter and more uniform flow into the combustion chamber.

This is the Roland;



As you can see the short travel requires a bend in each pipe.

The JMR 16v inlet has virtually no flow drop over a bare head...45's Tris ?

What head and cams ?
