Just remembered I had this vid-taken at the Ford RSOC day at Castle Combe in July

Car had the old Apex suspension & minimal weight loss back then. Still kept Mr Clio pretty honest though

Mini-update :)

Not too much new! Car now tucked up in the garage for winter.

Bought a modified gearshift for it to reduce the throw by 50% & also a socketed JDM P13 ECU. These were originally found in the import preludes.

This ECU has been socketed to allow the chip to be easily swapped & so a spoon sports copy chip will find its way in there. More aggressive mapping & VTEC changeover reduced to 5k rpm.

The JDM cars have different pistons to give 10.5:1 comp rather than the UK cars 10:1 but I figured its worth a punt as there is no real scope for modifying a uk ecu

I also have a fibreglass sunroof bung in the pipeline- saving nearly 25kgs in a oner!

Ha ha ha. You keep chopping lumps of that rust bucket mate. Eventually it will just fall apart and you can buy a vw again.

Have now fitted the JDM ECU with spoon chip- goes better ;). More aggressive in VTEC & earlier VTEC crossover

Sunroof bung, 2ws & 'slipper in the new year then an airfield day as a shakedown...

A few more fettles on their way...

Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust- 2.5" system decat back! Should release a few ponies & be lighter than the stock system.

Spare Roof section is ready to go & be moulded for the bung to be manufactured.

2ws subframe ready to fit now with rebushed rear camber arms & new trailing arm bushes to fit.

LSD box!

Rear inner wings have been introduced to mr grinder- rear 1/4's next!

I'm also considering using latching pins on the tailgate. Plenty of weight to come out there with hinges/lock & also the tailgate bracing. Carbon bonnet next? :P

Hoping to achieve most of it by April when I'm next out at Curborough.

How do I go about getting it weighed? Just pitch up at a public weigh bridge?

Hi matey, sounds good! There are places you can take your car that will tell you the weight on each wheel. Benefits are you can adjust your suspension to create a more even distribution as well as finding out the over all weight. Jason may know of a place to do this?

New exhaust & decat now fitted along with a K&N typhoon from a 5g Prelude (suitably modded to fit) What a difference!!! Great noise & yet more grunt. It really needs the slip diff box now!!

A pity the downpipe flexi has now failed. Still it's an excuse to get it repaired & modded at the same time.

Rich at Performance Autoworks is going to replace the flexi & mod the collector to 2.5" to match the rest of the system. I will also fit an Energy Suspension engine mount insert to the front mount to hold things steady!!

I have also now bought the gubbins to mod the bootlid with pins.

Roll on Curborough!!!
