The same catcams 283/279 from memory.

i am aiming for 210 bhp this time, or will that be to much for those carbs? There choke size are 37mm still, you told me one time i need to go 39-40 chokes?

Cheers

My power run from today, i'm a bit disapointed of the power output, but it's better then the last engine.

Yesterday, i did the last cross of the season. The conditions were not that good, a lot of rain thrue the whole day( i have never drifted that much in a front wheel drive car ;D) First race i was trying to get the fealing and getting to know my car, because i had never drove this car in wet conditions. Second race i went for it, and it did not go that well, i rolled the car had some front and side impact from others cars.. and could say my golf is done, i need to build a new one.

Here some pics of the day.

:o  I don't really know what to say to that  :o

I can't believe you put so much work in to a car to then go and do that to it......that is absolute carnage!!

That's totally f**k**g mad!!

It really looks like good fun on the day but that day after must be hard! I guess there is no real point setting up the suspension geometry!

I used to work opposite RPM Motorsport in Aldershot who used to build/sell american muscle cars etc but also used to run banger racers. They used to park up classic old british cars, all sign written up with welded in cages, rear mounted rads, fully stripped etc plus all sorts of other work of an evening on the trailer and I'd come in the next morning and it would be a pile of crushed scrap on the trailer. Took them weeks to build and in a 12 hr period it had become total scrap!!

Like I said it must be fun or you wouldn't do it.

How did the engine go Robin, better than the old one? I guess less is more in those conditions though!

It's good fun, it was extremley slippery, so i had a big crash... Most time you run two seasons of 12 races with a car, this golf was a bit rotten, and i had totally no luck at all. So this winter i will build a new car.

It's not like bangers at all, It hurts me also a little to see the golf go but cant change it.

Onboard video of another driver in the same class

Engine did great nice to have more low down power. I spoke all so the the guy that did the assembly of my cylinderhead. No 3 angle seats.. So i need that done this winter, maybe some other cams and choke's. But first other diff and suspension.

Yr missing out there robin..3 angle seats are a must on any decent head...they really liven up the 16v in terms of flow.

Based on the current power output, I'd run it on the dyno after the seats are done with the 37mm chokes, then swap to 38mm.

Measure the throat area when you strip the head Robin and let me know.
